The U.S. Special Envoy for Iran indicated that the fate of U.S. detainees held in Iran was “a priority from the president on down”, adding: “All of them have to come home. We don’t want to do a partial deal”. He further noted “some progress” on the issue, as did an Iranian diplomatic spokesperson who also contended that “the U.S. has taken this issue hostage to the Vienna talks”.
