WATCH LIST BRIEFING: Conflicts To Watch In 2017

Every year, the International Crisis Group prepares an early warning Watch List identifying up to ten major conflict situations in which prompt action, driven or supported by the EU and its member states, would help generate stronger prospects for peace.

The Watch List 2017 will be presented by Jean-Marie Guéhenno, Crisis Group President and CEO, followed by a moderated discussion.

 The Watch List 2017 includes:

  • A Global overview on key salient international dynamics confronting policy-making in the next year;
  • Regional overviews on key trends and concerns in Africa, Asia, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America, Middle East and North Africa; and,
  • The following conflict analyses: Lake Chad, Libya, Myanmar, Nagorno-Karabakh, Sahel, Somalia, Syria, Turkey, Venezuela, Yemen.
     

Coffee will be served to participants from 10:00. The briefing will start at 10:30 and will be followed by a networking lunch in the Sofitel hotel from 12:30.
