Israel’s military chief of staff was cited as saying that “Israel carries out on average at least one operation against Iran every week somewhere throughout the Middle East”, adding: “The Iranian vision to establish a second Hizbollah in Syria has been disrupted… The Iranians wanted to deploy hundreds of surface-to-surface missiles in Syria alongside tens of thousands of Shiite militiamen”. “There is a lot less weaponry and fewer bases and forces”, he continued. “This didn’t happen on its own, but rather, due to [Israel’s] war between wars, which will mark ten years in March [2023]”.
