A U.S. representative told the UN Security Council that “despite the ongoing period of calm [in the Yemen war], Iran continues to send a steady flow of weapons to the Huthis. Just ten days ago, the U.S. intercepted a dhow carrying thousands of AK-47s from Iran to the Huthis – the third interdiction in recent months. Such lethal, external interference can only fuel war and suffering in Yemen at a time when Yemenis are calling for the Huthis to negotiate to end the war”.
