The Treasury Department announced sanctions against Iranian entities which it described as "part of the Basij's economic conglomerate". Citing Iran's use of child soldiers, the special representative for Iran, Brian Hook, posited that "nations and companies around the world should remember that when they do business with the outlaw regime in Iran, they may well be financing these atrocities".
