As Crisis Group's Senior Communications and Advocacy Officer for Europe and Central Asia, Natalia works on media and advocacy strategies, develops media relations and builds up the organisation’s social media presence in the region.

Professional Background

Before joining Crisis Group, Natalia worked in Moscow as a correspondent and editor for RBC-TV and then at BBC Russian Service for radio, online and video output. She then continued as the BBC Russian social media editor in London but also as an editor on various multimedia projects with BBC World Service.

Natalia started her career as a researcher in academia and has a PhD in International Relations from the Russian Academy of Sciences, having written on Russia, NATO and the European Union. She holds an MA in International Politics from a joint MGIMO-Sciences-Po (IEP, Paris) program and was a research fellow in the UK and Brussels
